The inaugural workshop of the “DigiLearn” Project, implemented by Webcoms Global with the sponsorship of the Lanka Institute of Language and Information Technology (LILIT) and with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education, was successfully held on 16 March 2026 at Kithulgala Kalyani Maha Vidyalaya in the Dehiowita Education Zone.

The workshop brought together 20 students from Grades 10 and 11 and 10 teachers, providing them with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in effectively using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to support teaching and learning. Participants were also introduced to the responsible and effective use of AI and digital technologies in educational contexts.

A key focus of the inaugural workshop was to go beyond simply introducing students to emerging technologies and help them understand how these tools can be transformed into practical resources for their day-to-day learning. Through hands-on activities and practical demonstrations, students were encouraged to explore how AI and digital technologies can enhance their learning experiences and support more effective and independent learning.

The event was also attended by the Principal of Kalyani Maha Vidyalaya and the Project Coordinator of the Lanka Institute of Language and Information Technology (LILIT).
